Wauconda Digital History “This collection was made possible by long-time Wauconda resident Neville Carr . . . who has made it his mission to borrow and scan over 2,500 photographs from dozens of the Wauconda area’s oldest residents and their families, and to gather information about each photo ‘before it’s too late.'”

The Encyclopedia of Chicago has an article on the village of Wauconda, with a good summary of the town’s development and history (though I think its somewhat dismissive conclusion that the town is now a “suburban residential area” is Chicago-centric and inaccurate).
